Offline AI ("the App", available for iPhone on the App Store and for Android on Google Play) is an AI chat application that runs entirely on your device. We do not collect, store, or share any personal information, and we operate no servers. Your conversations never leave your device.
We do not require registration and do not collect any personally identifiable information. No account is needed to use the App, and the App does not send your data to any server.
On first launch, the App downloads its AI language model file (about 2.6 GB; an optional larger "Pro" model of about 3.7 GB is available to Premium subscribers) directly from Hugging Face's public content delivery network. This is a standard file download: no personal information, no chat content, and no identifiers are sent by the App. As with any internet download, the file host can see routine connection metadata such as your IP address. After the download, the App functions fully offline and makes no further network requests of its own. On Android the download runs as a foreground service with a progress notification so it can continue while you use other apps; it can be paused, resumed or cancelled at any time. When the model first starts, the App also creates a one-time setup file on your device (about 0.8 GB for the standard model) that speeds up later starts; it is deleted together with the model.
The optional Premium subscription is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store (iPhone) or by Google through Google Play (Android). We do not receive, store, or process any payment details or personal billing information. Purchase entitlements are verified on the device via Apple's StoreKit framework or the Google Play Billing Library.
On Android, Google Play may collect technical diagnostics from its billing component (for example, logs about the purchase flow) under Google's privacy policy. We do not receive this information.
Your conversations, preferences, and the downloaded model are stored locally on your device only. You can delete conversations in the app, delete the model from Settings, or delete the App itself, which removes all of its data. On Android, your chats and preferences may be included in your own Android device backup; the model files are never backed up.
Responses are generated by an on-device AI model. They may be inaccurate. Nothing you type is used to train any model and nothing is shared with us or with third parties.
Every AI answer has a Report button. Reporting marks the answer on your device only. If you then choose to send the report to us, your own email app opens with the answer text, the reason and your note, and nothing is sent unless you send that email yourself. We use reports only to review and improve the App.
The App does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children, because it collects no information at all.
If we ever change this policy, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date.
